Oh. The long awaited Jeffree Star "Clapback". For those that are not aware of the current dilemma. Here's a run down.

Entrepreneur, tattoo Artist, musician and former Best Friend to Jeffree Star, Kat Von D, posted a photo of JS covered by the universal "No" symbol. She gives a run down of the situation in her caption and and let's the reader know she is no longer and would no longer want her name and brand affiliated with JS.

This came as a surprise to thousands who proceeded to comment and repost said photo! Many were applauding and many were calling her out for being "a horrible human being".

Jeffree proceeded to post and then delete a series of tweets acknowledging Kat's post, at one point letting his followers know "I haven't seen her in a year......now you all know why no man could ever stick around... What a dark disgusting person." And then subtly proclaiming "I'm going back to reality now". This lead to a tweet back from Kat reminding him of their conversation over the weekend discussing the "stolen artwork". Which lead to the Internet proclaiming #katvondexposedJeffree
And the lesser known #payBJ

I don't benefit from siding with one person over another. Nor am i getting paid for this post. If you choose to stay neutral. That's fantastic. Yes, I guess you are better then me.

Any whoot. I own and/or was gifted almost every shade from JeffreeStarCosmetics and have followed him and his career since MySpace. I was 19. And yes, I'm old.

Back then it was easy for me to look past or not see any of his racist or misogynistic comments. I was young. And frankly, at that age, I didn't care.

My current opinion and views of him were formed a few months back. I found myself giggling at a comment he made to a "fan" and then felt horrid. Like wow " did he really say that to someone?" and more importantly "why did I laugh?" It wasn't right. And it's not right. And at that point I Silently stopped buying anything from him.

mind you, I would never and have never discouraged anyone from buying from his company. And have helped others who have supported his brand overcome being bullied by ppl who dislike Jeffree.

I have been following Kat since the days of Miami Ink. Yes, again I'm old. Hehe. Have admired and followed her for years. As well as own and use her brand of makeup.

Many are outraged at Kat for "not keeping it private". With her video response to him and subtweet, it's easy to miss why she chose to do it this way. But it's certainly hard to paint Jeffree as a Victim here too.

As a business owner, it would be a disservice to both herself, her fans and her brand to not disassociate with someone she no longer agrees with and with whom she also happens to have a very long history with.

As far as I see it, good on Kat. I applaud her bravery to speak out. What do I mean by that? What's so brave?

Kat and Jeffree's history is known. There are pictures on top of pictures of them both together. His body is full of her artwork. As far back as I remember, they were BFFs. When I silently stopped buying from Jeffree, it was at that moment I thought "I wonder how Kat and JS are doing?". Why? Well, Because there was not a moment I can recall of them not hanging out. As he stated, She was his Best Friend. She vouched for him time and time again. And has had him In videos as well as her social media.

These two names were at one point very closely intertwined. And it would be ignorant to believe this "break up" could have been handled any other way.

Kat did a wonderful job getting her thoughts and opinions out. And handled it the best she could. It's ignorant to bash her all Because she wants the public acknowledge she is no longer associated.

I do applaud how eloquent and calm he was during this video. It's certainly a different side of him I've never seen, Especially in situations containing drama of this proportion. Cause, I mean, we've seen him rant.

But his video didn't answer many of my questions. In fact, he contradicts himself several times in the video and from previous statements he's made. For instance, He shames her for publicly defending her friend, because as we know, she's not his lawyer. Yet was ok last month publicly defending another Makeup Artists while tweeting and snapchatting about beating up another individual that he felt was disrespecting that artist.

He also claims he never stole a logo but in turn states that he paid the artist in question. The same artist that designed a very similar logo, the same logo he used as inspiration for his company.

Lastly, he claims that His life became so busy with work and life and no longer really spoke with Kat but then claims he is shocked and saddened that a friend, Kat, whom he was so close with, would distance herself and then accuse him of stealing.

In the end, his response video wasn't much of a response. It left much to be desired. To me, He confirmed what Kat had spoken of in her video.
